Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and is often known as the city of lights. There is so much to do, see and explore that it can feel overwhelming at first. In my opinion Paris is best savored in small parts, exploring a few sights or neighborhoods each day. In planning a trip to Paris I recommend at least 10 days so that you don't feel rushed and can get a sense of what you like and don't like. Hotels in Paris tend to be on the expensive side. If you can try renting an apartment. That way you can have a couple of meals per day @ your apartment and just go out for one meal a day. If you're coming to Paris by air you'll most likely enter the country at
Charles De Gaulle airport. Others through one of the train stations in the city. If you enter the country at the airport I suggest taking a taxi into the city. It's a bit expensive but worth it versus renting a car and dealing with Paris traffic.
One of the things you'll first notice about Paris is the wide variety of food, both in markets and restaurants. It's a literal feast for the eyes and senses. It seems you can find almost anything and everything. Most Parisians do their shopping a day at a time, often going out for fresh bread in the morning and eating late dinners (by American standards).
